AnarchAngel Zine

AnarchAngel is a collection of poetry and visual art in fairytale format, focusing on the "maiden" phase while exposed to metaphorical monsters and harsh realities in the free-fall of newly-found freedom and wake of obligatory "womanhood". This black-and-white half-size zine conjures the adolescent embrace of the morose, a Gothic tome meets Riot Grrrl, feat. illustrations, prose, short stories, collage and found relics.

From the depths of damsel in despair battlingn danger yet fumbling towards empowerment, AnarchAngel is a nod to the "inner teen" struggle associated with the Aries-Libra Axis. Released during an Eclipse, Symposium Vol III peers into the rage of the "teen femme" experience, overarching the content of this publication.

The male gaze itself is a looming curse informant to the cause and destruct lined within Vol III's narrative works, emphasizing the time frame in which sparkling innocence is faced with harsh realities, presented thru the aesthetic of medieval manuscripts and biblical themes. Precariously balancing camp and conditioning, please note the TW: of subject matter (abuse, assault, self-harm) included in this issue.

AnarchAngel balances elements of mythological landscapes with a deviled dose of pop culture, referencing beloved 90's and Noughts nods to Twin Peaks, Virgin Suicides, Jennifer's Body... bleeding into the very persona during tumultuous transit. Contributors include: Anya Gibson, Cait Lamas, Syd Stanley, Murda Hill, Ben Montague, Faith Naoi, Lisa Kinne, Catherine Rush, Marshall Trotter, Madeline Lenahan, Damian Caballero and Femme Moon creator/editor Sun.
